THE NORTH-EAST

The region is 1/3 big of the country. It alternates high lands of mountain chains. It is the border zone with Laos and Cambodia. Phimai, Phanom Rung are the greatest example of the khmer heritage of art and culture. Phu prabat, Baan Chiang are the evidences of a past settlement of ancient civilisations of the north-east.
